dress-up day

So I know there are those of you out there who remember what it was like to spend the better part of a morning dressing and undressing your favorite doll, stuffie, or toy- searching for the "just right" outfit. Or maybe you still do this...

I also know that there are people out there who getthe same feeling when dressing their own children. I have to say, I was never really in that camp...it took the lady at the children's clothing store in Encinitas to point out that I was dressing my son in pajamas *gasp* rather than regular clothes in the 4th week of his life. Heck, if it fit and he was warm- he'd be wearing it!

We've been lucky to have some very generous family and friends to help us in clothing our child, I can count on one hand the amount of clothes I have bought for Nate and there are *still* clothes we won't get to before he outgrows them.

So every now and then a box will arrive on our doorstep- signaling clothes from afar. Last night we opened a box from Jed's friend in Carlisle, PA and within this box was this gem of a hat! As the "June Gloom" has settled early over these parts, it will still come in handy in the next few weeks. Personally, I like the image it conjures up of Nate scootching into the woods, lighting a campfire and sleeping beneath the stars :)

Thanks Bryan and Elise for helping us have our first dress-up day!
