So, I had a lovely Mother's Day Weekend. Jed swept Nate and I away from our moving madness and we had a delightful stay over at the Rancho Las Palmas Resort in Rancho Mirage. The weather was absolutely perfect- just the right amount of dry heat to help Nate's prolonged snuffling fizzle out AND (most importantly) to allow Nate not one dip but TWO in the pool! He had such a good time, as did Jed and I, I couldn't have asked for a better vacation!
Of course, once we got home, Jed turned into a superhero again and finished packing and loading up ALL of the remaining items in our old apartment to bring to our new home. Not only did he do all of our clothes and kitchen items, he also had to do the remaining fridge/freezer food and couch. Whew! Nate and I were the designated unpackers and as Jed and I are semi-professional movers (we don't move others- only ourselves) we're pretty good at making a box-filled room into a home in just a few hours...fast enough even to celebrate with a Mother's Day dinner with MY mom and soon-to-be-mama sister- at our new place, of course!
Needless to say, it has been quite the whirlwind around here. Slowly beginning to settle. Nate was a bit unsettled the past couple days but I think that's largely a reflection of my own inner state- not necessarily him understanding what's going on. Every time he cries, it's a reminder that I need to slow down, breathe and GET OUT OF THE CAR!
Check out Nate's Website sometime soon to see some of the better Mother's Day shots!
