today I am...
still not in a space where I feel like writing much. Too many images in my mind. I'll indulge myself a little and use that as an excuse to post a few individual shots from my visit to Maine, I'm sure I'll use the same excuse tomorrow for my Chicago shots.

touchdown (the airplane kind)
I love to travel: to visit, to explore, to talk until the early morning hours with those you don't get to see often enough, to try to capture the essence of a place through the lens of a camera, the amazing love and hospitality offered by family and friend. But I think I love all of that in contrast to the coziness, the comforting smells, the familiar sights of home. Oh how I love to be home.
I have so many amazing pictures to share from our trip to Chicago, and my own to Maine. Thank goodness for picasa's collage feature. Eventually I'll post them on their own. But for now, this works for me.
