art and toddler rooms

I finally pulled out the tempura paint a couple weeks ago and have been loving the results. It took Nate a moment to get over his trepidation of having 'dirty' hands but within minutes he was smooshing and smearing and making a big ol' mess.

I've been working on his room since we moved in, every week I'll add one or two things, move a piece of furniture (or all of them- he has 3 pieces of furniture to speak of) and then sit back and feel dissatisfied. Well, this week I decided to just go for it and painted a couple pieces for Nate's room. Of course, I needed him to add his own beautiful art to the walls so today we worked on one of the pieces on a canvas. As you can see from the first picture, he's still undecided about having dirty hands but the process was still fantastic to watch. And I think the results were too...
