It was truly a great weekend, though surreal in it's difference to trips past. I'm still getting over being the parent in Catalina, rather than the kid as that's what I've been the past 28 years. It's funny to see that I don't leave the boat after 5pm to go ashore anymore, we've reverted back to spending afternoons on the beach, rather than out underwater diving, and I've rediscovered the ability to while away hours reading. It's different coming to a childhood place, where everyone remembers you as such, and introducing your own child to them. I suppose that's part of what it's all about, generations rotating, shifting and beginning again. Someday I'm sure Nathaniel will be remarking on the same thing...
