This Saturday was one of Jed's weekends to work so Nate and I took the train down to visit and we all headed to the Birch Aquarium in La Jolla. For those of you located in San Diego, if you haven't been, dig that 2 for 1 coupon out of Clippers and get going...it was awesome! Located right on the bluff above La Jolla, it has some of the best views around as well as some pretty beautiful exhibits.
Nathaniel is really into fish and watching bright objects move around so this was a great trip for him. It was pretty adorable to see him swiping his hands across the glass to catch the shark swimming by or just gazing into the tank of moon jellies lit up with a black light.
The aquarium had a really well-designed exhibit going about global warming, specifically regarding the increase of CO2 in the atmosphere. I thought it was very informative and engaging for all age levels. One of the more fun exhibits in that
section was a "live newscast" where you read a teleprompter and get recorded and "broadcast" to a TV outside the booth. Of course, Jed went in there immediately with Nate and put on a show for all those outside the booth. I think if he was to ever give up sales, TV journalism will be the next obvious career move. It's good to know he has a backup job :)
