A few months ago, I got really excited about making my own carrier. I chose a mei tai style as it seemed like one of the easier ones to make. I found myself searching for patterns online, staring closely at strangers carrying their babies in
them, and after multiple trials and errors- voila! I tried to make it reversible, making it more interesting for the wearer and I also added pockets. Of course, the pockets are too low and the lower strap too thin, but overall I'm pretty pleased with the results! Nate seems to love the thing and I have to say, it has saved me the last few weeks as he has decided that he doesn't want to be anywhere but carried for most of the day. Being a double-shoulder carrier, it really distributes the weight well and makes his almost 16 pound body feel more manageable on my back :)

It's beautiful! It was very surprising to me, too, when I found out how easy and fun they are to make.
if only everything were that easy, right?
