Warning: Graphic Content- not for those with weak stomachs!

I think that every true parenting blog needs to have at least one post dedicated to baby poop, after all that is what the majority of Jed and my time is spent talking about. This is a typical conversation these days:

Jed: How was your day Jen?
Jen: Great, Nate was in a really good mood- lots of smiles and laughs.
Jed: Oh, did he poop today?
Jen: Yeah, really early in the day- it was a good amount, dark yellow-brown- want to see it?
Jed: No thanks, maybe after dinner...

Oh woe is us if he hasn't actually pooped within 4 days- those are the days where we sit in anticipation of "the big one." You know it's coming, you just don't know when and (more importantly) where this may occur.

The most incredible thing about these giganta-poos is that once they happen, Nate is transformed. He will laugh, smile, talk and generally be the hit of the party for the rest of the day. The relief is obvious.

This evening we were greeted with one of those "big ones." Jed had the pleasure of being its recipient. As you can tell from the picture below- they both seem to be a little shell-shocked.

So, that's my entry about poop. I promise to not bring it up again for at least a little bit longer. Being a parent is so wonderfully disgusting :)
