word love

So, I am a word nerd.  Fully and completely.  One (of the many) strange things about my brain is that the more nervous, emotional or tongue-tied I become, the larger my vocabulary.   I have found myself in really awkward situations that have only been made worse because I've begun talking like the Oxford dictionary when I felt myself flustered.

Luckily, I'm not alone in my love for words.  I came across a brilliant article the other day all about untranslatable words from around the world.  Words that English has no word for, yet are experiences that English speakers feel along with the rest of the world's population.

These are my top four from the list...you'll just have to follow the link to find out what they mean!

Saudade- Portuguese
Mamihlapinatapei- Yagan (indigenous language of Tierra del Fuego)
Toska- Russian
Jayus- Indonesian
