thoughts

: the almost last of my poppies:
I tend to be solitary by nature. I prefer quiet moments with a book, with a plant, left to my own devices. As I have grown older, though, I find I'm not necessarily happiest or healthiest when left alone. I enjoy conversations, engaging with other people and their wacky ideas and find it helps in oh so many ways to just get the heck out of my own head for bit. So, I venture out and I connect and I am reminded, yet again, that I do have friends, that I do have community and that I do need to remember to be a part of the world.

Yesterday was my little sister's birthday- a yearly reminder that she's not so little anymore- which should be obvious with my own birthday each year- but needless to say, I find it startling we're both in our thirties. How did we ever get so old? Goodness, I wouldn't trade a day, though.

Totally random thoughts for a Thursday? Yes. But something had to be said.
