arizona

Jed and I (or maybe it was mainly me) were feeling a need for a vacation. A break from the day to day. A couple (okay, really just one) days off. Jed found a certificate for a stay in Phoenix, Arizona that was going to expire on March 31, 2009. All that and the next thing we knew, we were staying at an incredible resort, having the time of our lives. Two years later, I am still taken aback at how different vacations really are with a small one. I was so very excited to get an hour one morning to work on Jed's Christmas stocking (oh boy, is that a whole post in itself). Gone are the days of sleeping in, laying in bed watching bad movies, napping at the pool, etc. Come to think of it, I still managed to fit in two out of three. Nate enjoyed the pools, Jed and I enjoyed room service, as a family it was nice to have an uninterrupted amount of time with just the three of us.

why didn't anyone tell me it's impossible to get a good smile picture from a 2 year old?

not a care in the world

When we got back, Nate and I found a surprise at our doorstep. Aunt Mia (Jed's sister) was SO very amazing and she sent me a thumb drive with all of the pictures she has ever taken along with a gift for the Blackhawk fan(s) in my life. You are such a rockstar Mia! Thank you so very much- it means more than you can know to have a few more pictures of this past year.
