Something worth doing....

I'm always looking for more and better ways to make my crafting more useful for other people. One of my favorite bloggers of all time, Amanda Soule, has created a new project for fellow crafters- Mama to Mama.

Here's an excerpt from the blog about the first project:
Mama to Mama is honored to introduce our first project. The Caps to Cap-Haitien Project: A Partnership with Konbit Sante, will initially provide newborn jersey caps to be distributed in Safe Birthing Kits in northern Haiti.

Click on the link above to find out even more information. I will definitely be pulling out all my old tee-shirts this weekend and sewing a few of these up to send. Not to volunteer anyone, but Grandma Lina, Grandpa Flory and Bon Bon, this seems right up your alley with your great sewing skills!

Do you have a sewing machine? Do you have a tee shirt? I downloaded the pattern and, even with a toddler tugging at my leg, I can't imagine a hat taking more than half an hour. Not bad for something that could help save the life/comfort a newborn infant in Haiti.

Definitely let me know if you're going to make some too...everything's more fun in numbers!
