We're famous!

Nathaniel and I have been taking a sign class for the past 5 weeks. As the instructor told us the first week, it's more for the parents than the kids at this point. Each week we adults work as hard as we can to learn about 20 different signs and then valiantly try to remember what they are when we get home that afternoon to use them with our children.

Nathaniel absolutely loves the class and is learning SO many signs. We've all been pretty impressed with his ability to communicate. It has actually started to get to a point where he will look at you, do some crazy hand gesture and then look at you again,at which point you realize, "This kid is trying to tell me something and I have NO idea what that could be." It's nice, though, because he's less likely to get frustrated now that he feels he's 'telling' us something.

The picture above was taken by a photographer for a local newspaper. We actually made the front page! Of course, none of us actually picked up a copy but thank goodness for the internet, right? In the picture, we're signing 'a lot.'

p.s. if you ever want to make Nate's day- learn the words to "The More We Get Together" along with the signs. This song is requested a minimum of 20 times a day. I'm not exaggerating.
