Fun.
I suppose it is good that this all happened within a week and especially at the beginning of a new year, things really can only go up from here- right?
Through it all, Nathaniel has been so very amazing. In the same time frame, he has also learned how to say 'da-ee'(daddy- a word he uses to refer to most men in his life), "hah" (hot- said with an arm stretched toward that which seems hot- fire, heaters, boiling water, etc), and after he sneezes he will point to a box of kleenex and say "git."
Just last night he was without a diaper and realized that he was peeing on the floor. He looks down, moves over and puts his hand in the wet spot on the carpet. He then grabs the diaper (which should have been on his butt in the first place) and put it down on wet spot, much like he has seen me do way too many times.
I finally got around to going to the hardware store and we were able to install Nate's new swing that Aunt Jess and Uncle Matt got for his birthday. Let me tell you, the kid was in heaven. I wish it would just get a bit warmer as this kid of mine loves to be outdoors and with all his viruses, I don't need his body to work extra hard at staying warm too. (And, yes, I know that 58 degrees is not considered cold by many out there.)
I finish with a picture. This was taken on New Year's Day. Jed and I were walking in that exact same spot one year ago that day to 'get things started' to have our baby boy join us. The next day my contractions started and two days later there he was. I am just as in love as that first moment I saw him. Maybe more so.
