I know that the day has come and gone. I know that time itself is moving just a tad, oh who am I kidding, WAY too fast. My little one is almost a year old. This holiday season just serves as a place marker for that biggest of events in our year. The marking of the beginning of our time with our most precious son. But that's a post for next week. When it's official.
This is a post about last week. Santa came to our house this year. Nathaniel didn't quite know what to do with the presents he was given. A box would be passed to him, he may shake it. He might drop it. He would definitely bang on it. Someone might be thoughtful enough to tear a corner and the rest of the paper would come flying off. And that's it. We forget that it takes time to understand that the present is in the box. Or maybe we've all gotten it wrong. Maybe the present itself is in the giving. And getting. And the thought that went into that box itself. Perhaps the gift in the box is just something to remind us of the thought that person put into us in giving us that box. Maybe Nathaniel had it right all along.
We took 30 minutes of video of the big day. I was hoping to have edited it down to a manageable size and to share that with those who are interested. That will have to happen another day. It's still 25 minutes long. That's 15 minutes too long by my standards. I, of course, was too busy playing with this new toy to get many stills of my little's first Christmas. But, luckily, others love him and I will hopefully upload more pictures in the near future.
I hope your Christmas was as delightful as ours was. We spent most of our day celebrating over at my parent's house. As you can see from the picture below, it was quite a full house. Adding two babies to the mix in the same year was so much fun.
I hope the new year brings you all good health, happiness and joy. Thanks for stopping by.
