Way back when, in my teaching days, I had a perennial favorite book in my class entitled Fortunately. It was written in 1964 by a man (?) named Remy Charlip. The story moves from one fortunate event to an unfortunate event, on and on until the fortunate ending. Well, I'm in a fortunate/unfortunate kind of mood, so I think I'll do this post in that format...
Fortunately, this summer has been amazingly beautiful.
Unfortunately, the days are getting shorter and dark is settling upon us sooner.
Fortunately, the ocean has been in the 70s, perfect to swim, splash and play in.
Unfortunately, Nathaniel is still an itty bitty baby and isn't quite ready to spend all day wading around in the water.
Fortunately, my garden is growing to gargantuan proportions.
Unfortunately, the gigantic tomato plants are taking over all the other plants' living spaces.
Fortunately, I have the most beautiful sunflowers in the world growing right now in said garden.
Unfortunately, they are home to the creepiest, crawliest baby worms that stand on end and wriggle in the sunlight- as my old students would say- "how interesting!"
Fortunately, I get to spend my days with a lovey of a son, and my nights with a hero of a husband.
Fortunately, I can still appreciate the unfortunate things :)
