I suppose part of what's making posting more difficult these days is that as Nathaniel grows up and changes, I have to also adapt and change and learn new routines. Okay, but I know that's also only part of it. The other part is that I bought some funky new yarn the other day and just HAD to knit another diaper cover (pics to follow) and I also HAD to start reading what feels like the world's longest book: Guns, Germs and Steel by Jared Diamond. I didn't even rent this one from the library because (1) my fines are SO huge because that's one of the "responsibility" pieces I've dropped as *not so important in the grand scheme of things* and (2) I fear that it's length will make this my "book of the year" and will add to my steadily increasing fine problem (see 1).
In other news, Nate's newest and most precious trick is sitting up! As you can tell from the picture, he's not only quite proud of himself, he has also mastered reading This Little Piggy on his own :) It has been pretty entertaining watching him go from a sitting postition onto his stomach, only to roll over onto his back 10 seconds later. Of course, most of the time I miss these acrobatics as he really only likes to do 90% of his movements when no one is watching. The only way I know this is that if I turn my head for a bit, when I look back he's in a completely different place/position than he started....somehow he got that way!
I hope this longer post makes up for my slacking. If you're ever noticing I'm becoming a flake, feel free to send me an email or post a comment on one of the posts. I have to say, there's definitely something about blogging that feels a bit like talking to yourself. It's nice to get feedback and know others are reading...know what I mean? Happy Thursday!

You're not the only one who is behind...we're back in the US now, and have been for almost a month and I haven't finished writing about th trip. So don't feel too bad.
Also, I read guns, germs, and steel on cd; I have found that since I became a mom I have no time to read on paper but I can find time to listen as I do other things.
So amazed that Nate could sit up now.He seems so independent and a
laid back little chap.He is really growing fast.We long to see him again.
