This weekend marked Nathaniel's first visit to Two Harbors, over on Catalina Island.

Though the weather wasn't as cooperative as we had hoped it would be, the trip itself was amazing. Nate was enthralled with everything- of course, this led him to miss almost every nap, leaving him in a slightly grumpy mood. Of course, even when grumpy, Nathaniel is a charmer and he worked his smile over all the islanders, getting all the hugs and kisses he could handle!

Jed's brothers (Nate's uncles) came to visit us from Chicago- they were also there for Nate's first baseball game (should be posted next). It was also their first time over to Catalina, spending the night on a boat, seeing a buffalo, etc., etc.
It was definitely a different experience, going somewhere that I've been a million times, since I was a little baby, and bringing my own child. As those of you who are parents know, trips that used to be labeled "vacation" aren't quite the same with a new baby....more like an "adventure."

Bon Bon and Pops were nice enough to let us all have the big bed up front this trip as the boat was so full, Nate and I would have ended up on the floor. While I was actually interested in trying that, I think we all ended up with a lot more sleep getting a bed of our own :)
On Sunday Nate was able to take his first bath "island style" in a blow-up boat in the cockpit of the boat. You can tell from the picture, he thinks we're all a bit ridiculous.

We look forward to many more trips of this kind in the coming years!
